The Mississippi State Football team will be playing a late afternoon game and into the early evening against the Florida Gators.

The Mississippi State football team is playing well in the early part of the college football season. The Bulldogs are 3-0 and currently ranked 14th in the country by both the AP and the Coaches.

Since the Bulldogs are playing well, they have have avoided too many games early in the day. This will again be the case as the Mississippi State football team hosts their former coach Dan Mullen and the Florida Gators.

The SEC Office announced the game times for Week 5 of the 2018 College football season earlier today. The Bulldogs will be playing at 5 p.m. on September 29th when it plays their highly anticipated game against the Florida Gators.

Here is the official announcement from the SEC Twitter account.

The 5:00 p.m. game time is fine, but I think CBS is making a big mistake here. They opted to take Georgia and Tennessee for their game. It should be a curb stomping by the Georgia Bulldogs.

The best story line of the week is definitely Dan Mullen’s return to Starkville to take on the Mississippi State football program he spent nine years building. But Georgia and Tennessee are both big name programs, so that is why CBS opted to go with the Bulldogs and Vols. However, there is one good aspect to this game not being the CBS game.

So yes, people attending Bulldog Bash the night before will have a chance to sober up and get to the game as rowdy as ever. There have been a number of times throughout the years when this game was an 11:00 kick after Bulldog Bash.
