After a wild week of college football, check out the latest SEC power rankings.

Week 12 of the college football season can be summed up in one word: unpredictable. Eight teams ranked in the top 25 lost last week including three of the top four teams. The SEC east continued to be a jumble of mediocrity and inconsistency. Tennessee beat Kentucky, keeping their championship hopes alive and Florida beat South Carolina clearing their path to Atlanta.

Georgia had the conference upset of the week by beating a very hot Auburn team and ruining their SEC championship hopes. On the other side of the conference, Alabama clinched their third straight trip to Atlanta by demolishing our Bulldogs. LSU got an impressive and dominant win against Arkansas and Ole Miss beat A&M in College Station behind a good showing from their freshman phenom quarterback. As we prepare for week 12, let’s check out the rankings.

14. Vanderbilt- In true Vandy fashion, the Dores appeared to be figuring things out until their week 11 loss to Missouri so they’re dropping down a spot.

13. Missouri- The Tigers ended a five game losing streak by beating Vanderbilt last week. Mizzou earned their first conference win and a one spot jump in these rankings.

12. South Carolina- USC is another team who seemed to be playing better late in the year but then failed to show up against Florida. The Gamecocks move down one spot.

11. Kentucky- UK has finished conference play with a 4-4 record after losing to Tennessee. On the bright side, The Cats should finally get over the hump and make a bowl game after they beat Austin Peay this week.

10. Georgia- I’ve been saying this all year and it remains true. UGA is the most inconsistent team in the league. They lost to Vandy and struggled against UK but showed up defensively and beat a top 10 Auburn team last week.

9. Mississippi State- It’s hard to punish a team for losing to Bama but I’m dropping the Bulldogs one spot this week. They didn’t even belong on the field with the Tide this week hopefully they bounce back to end the year.

8. Ole Miss- The Bears started the Shea Patterson era off with a win at A&M and the freshman looked good. There is some reason for hope in what has been a disappointing season for TSUN.

7. Arkansas- The Hogs went opposite of their norm this year. Usually they start slow and heat up late in the year. This year has been different as the wheels have fallen off as of late.

6. Tennessee- Another team that started hot and dropped off is UT. Even after all the ups and downs the Vols still have a shot at the SEC east if Florida loses to LSU next week.

5. Texas A&M- The number eight team in the nation lost at home to a freshman QB last week. The Aggies are in a downward spiral and with Trevor Knight out things probably won’t get in better.

4. Florida- The only SEC east team to control their own destiny at this point in the year is the Gators. It won’t be easy but we could very well see UF in Atlanta.

3. Auburn- All they had to do was beat Georgia and the Iron Bowl would’ve been a SEC west championship game. But the Tigers couldn’t get it done and are dropping a spot for it.

2. LSU- The Bayou Bengals dominated Arkansas last week and Coach O has them rolling. They are likely playing for the Sugar Bowl and Ed’s job the next couple weeks.

1.  Alabama- The Tide became the first three time division champion since Florida in the mid 90s and the only top 4 team to win last week. Anything short of a National Championship is a disappointment at this point.
