Dak Prescott needs some help. That is the most important aspect of Mississippi State’s team the coaching staff needs to address as we go into the month of November. Mississippi State has performed better than most gave them credit for in the preseason. November will determine how right or wrong the talking heads were about this team. And if the Bulldogs want to put the final nail in the coffin of all those preseason expectations, then someone has to step up and help Dak Prescott lead this team to victory.

Mississippi State was billed as a one man show entering the 2015 season. The reason so many people picked them to finish last in the division is simply because no one saw the Bulldogs with much of a supporting cast around Dak Prescott. In some ways they were right, in other ways they were wrong.

For the most part, people believed the offensive line of the Bulldogs would struggle with the loss of three starters. Early on they were right. The offensive line struggled to block anyone, rushing or passing. But as the weeks have progressed, the offensive line has looked much more cohesive and has provided Dak Prescott time to throw, and runners lanes to work with.

The running game was going to take a hit according to most analysts, and they were right. While many fans believed the Bulldogs would be fine with Shumpert or any other back on the roster, it hasn’t been the case. Dak Prescott is the leading rusher on the team, and it likely won’t get better.

Despite the lack of a running game, the Bulldogs now sit at 6-2. To go 4-0 or 3-1 in November, the Bulldogs will need someone to step up in the month of November. So who will it be?

I have a few candidates in mind. Let’s take a look at each of them.
