Shooting Scare on Mississippi State Campus
This event has gone from a “shooter” to no shots fired to no weapon until the point where it’s been pretty confusing but has become a bit more clear now. Here’s what happened today…
[A Maroon Alert was sent out that an active shooter was on the MSU campus around 10 AM]
Mississippi State has said everything is clear, we are good to resume normal activity.
From what I’ve been able to gather, it sounds like the hysteria that took place on campus this morning was more due to a possible misguided report of a shooter and the alert was texted out to all the students (it said “active shooter report at Carpenter Hall), thus creating panic and fearing the worst.
MSU press conf: No weapon, no shots were fired. No one is injured. Ngyuen was threatening to commit suicide & harm students on drill field.

MSU Spokesman: No shots fired. No gun recovered. Suspect in custody. All clear & classes resume at 2pm. No credible source for 2nd suspect.

Classes are suspended until 2pm. Don’t not attempt to leave classroom. Stay indoors. Do not attempt to go to your vehicle. This is getting pretty confusing because they say no shots were fired?
