Bent’s Bites – MSU @ UK

I kinda’ saw it as a slight toward Tennessee that umiss scheduled them for their homecoming last week. It appears the favor has been returned this week as LSU has scheduled umiss for their homecoming.

What I cannot understand, however, is what in the world the Kentucky Wildcats were thinking scheduling the Mississippi State Bulldawgs for their homecoming!

Seriously! We’ve beaten them five years in a row! I know we weren’t ranked when this decision was made, because no one would schedule the #1 top ranked team in the nation for their homecoming, right? But that is what Kentucky is getting. I’m almost certain they didn’t intend this as a slight or an insult toward us. I’m going to have to assume that realistically, they got a little too excited sampling some of that fine Kentucky bourbon. I do hope our team, however, takes it personally.

We’re 12 point favorites in this one according to Vegas, but I believe that’s down from the 13 points we opened at. Honestly I think it should be more like 13.5, but I’ll have to assume Vegas knows what they’re doing. They have more money that I do.

So we’re featured this weekend in another SEC Nation matchup. Of course, with 14 teams in the SEC and 14 weeks in the season, everybody gets SEC nation once this year. (I wonder who will get the short end of the stick next year when the season is only 13 weeks.) So this will be just another game of Cats and Dawgs.

The pictures I come up with for our games with Kentucky seem to be awfully repetitive, don’t they? Kentucky is not really giving me a whole lot to work with, though. Aside from the Dawgs and Cats thing, which is so obvious, what really else is there? They’re playing at a much higher level this year. They’re 5-2, with both losses on the road in the SEC. One of those losses was a triple overtime loss. Stoops has them firing on all cylinders now, despite that horrendous showing last week on Saturday night in Death Valley. Haven’t really had a lot to work with since they dismissed their last coach:

Sure, I could take a stab at them being drunken hillbillies, but I believe that’s mostly the fans and some of the students, not so much anyone associated with the football program. So I won’t do that. I mean, I kinda feel sorry for them. That total butt-whoopin’ they got last week in Baton Rouge? Well that’s just going to continue this week at their own house! Bless their hearts. Seriously. I mean, think about it. They were dumb enough to schedule the #1 team in the nation for their homecoming.

Goofy drunk hillbillies.

Hail State!
