MSU Football Game Day Forecast: Baton Rouge / Red Stick Edition

facebooktwitterreddit

Forecast Update: 11:30 AM

So looking at the latest models this morning, I feel very confident in dropping rain chances altogether for Saturday night’s matchup. This can be confirmed due to the lack of substantial support in the lower levels for storms to develop enough. Dry, cool Canadian air will be filtering in throughout the day today making conditions a lot better for the game on Saturday. So go ahead and leave the rain jackets at home for Saturday if you’re headed down to Baton Rouge, because you sure won’t need it.

Previous Discussion

So the most wonderful time of the year has come. That’s right, it’s not Christmas, though it might seem like it to football fans in the South. No, it’s the start of SEC Football season between the Mississippi State Bulldogs and the Louisiana State Tigers in Baton Rouge. Both teams are 3-0 coming into the game and with it being a night game, weather could play a huge role in this game. Kickoff is at 6:00 PM CT on the World Wide Leader (ESPN), so this is a big chance for MSU to show off on national television against a Top-10 opponent. Looking at some of the models, it seems our only real chance of rain is towards the very end of the game (AKA 4th Quarter to possible Overtime). If, and that’s a big IF, this rain chance comes to fruition it could affect the game fairly dramatically. Granted, the total rain amount that I would expect is less than .25″. Now let’s get right down to the nitty-gritty shall we? We shall.
