MSU Game Day Forecast: Beer-Serving Jaguars Edition

facebooktwitterreddit

Updated Forecast: 10:00 AM

So looking over the models this morning, it seems that the system isn’t going to be quite as strong as we thought it would be initially. So I’m going to bump down the rain chances for the game, because of the fact that everything seems to be pointing towards a less-aggressive system. Making a good forecast is all about constantly adjusting to the latest observations and trying to get it just right before it happens. Trust me, it’s going to stay just about the same throughout the day.

Previous Discussion

So we have had two extremes as far as weather is concerned for our football games the past two weeks. First, we experienced a true “gully-washer” in the game against Southern Miss. Then, we experienced one of the hottest games in recent history against UAB (Heat index values hovered around 100 °F throughout the game). As we head down to Mobile, AL to face off against the University of South Alabama Jaguars, one would like to see a much more comfortable game weather-wise than the past weekends. So today’s Game Day forecast will be a little bit harder to pin down due to more factors coming into play as we’re going to be so close to the Gulf of Mexico and the moisture associated with it. Also, with us having a cold front trying to nose its way down towards the Southeastern United States we are going to have to take into account the effects that it will bring.

Kickoff is slated for 3:00 PM CT at Ladd-Peebles Stadium in Mobile, AL. With Ladd-Peebles being only just under 3 miles from Mobile Bay, I’m fairly confident that it will stay fairly humid all things considered. We’re not going to stay dry this game, so go ahead and pack up the umbrella or rain poncho for this game because you will need it.
