Starting today on Maroon and White Nation I will begin a weekly recruiting update series on Mississippi State targets and commitments called the Dawg Pound.
The first recruiting profile will be on the first 2015 commit, 6′-3″ 200 pound Yazoo City outside linebacker, Timothy Washington.
Washington was on-hand for the Mississippi State/Alabama game in November 2013 where the Bulldogs played the Crimson Tide extremely tough, even without Dak Prescott. Timothy was impressed with what he saw and decided to “pull-the-trigger” early.
Washington said he had been thinking Mississippi State was the place for him for a while. When the defense displayed how good they were against the Tide it sealed the deal for him. He was the first high school player to commit to State in the ’15 class.
The rising senior linebacker produces great size and tremendous athleticism for a future SEC linebacker. As a junior at Yazoo City High School, Washington accounted for 67 tackles — over 13 for a loss — seven-and-half sacks, and even blocked a three punts.
Timothy Washington is often dubbed the leader of the 2015 class, also known as the #DawgFam15, and will be a key piece in the Bulldog’s future.
