SEC East Previews: Vanderbilt

Vanderbilt has finished an astounding 9-4 the last two years. Prior to 2012, the last time they won nine games in a season was 1915. James Franklin did a remarkable job with that program, but he has left for Penn State. With his departure so went a number of his recruits and a lot of hope and prospects for the 2014 Vandy season. We pick them to finish last in the East.

Schedule

  • Temple (Thurs)
  • Ole Miss (at LP Field in Nashville)
  • UMass
  • South Carolina
  • at Kentucky
  • at Georgia
  • Charleston Southern
  • (Bye)
  • at Missouri
  • Old Dominion
  • Florida
  • (Bye)
  • at Mississippi State
  • Tennessee

The first thing that jumps out on that schedule – only four true road games! The game vs. OM at the Titans field is interesting – there will probably be more Rebel fans there than Vandy. Also not having to travel until Week 5 may help out a younger team like the ‘Dores.
