Game 1 vs. aTm Delayed Until Friday

Game one of the series vs. Texas A&M has been delayed due to weather with MSU up 4-1. The game was in the top of the 7th, and will resume at 5:00 on Friday. Game 2 is scheduled to start at 6:30 as planned, however, that could move back if the finish of Game 1 takes longer than expected.

Trevor Fitts was pitching an excellent game only allowing one (unearned) run through six innings. No one has been brought in to replace him so there is a full compliment of arms available from the bullpen to finish this one. Does Cohen go with Johnathan Holder for a three inning save? Lindgren? Or maybe go with Gentry to save those two for later in the night? Some have suggested putting Ross Mitchell out there to finish it and go right on into Game 2. That might not be the craziest idea. We’ll see.

State got off to a hot start in this game with three runs in the first inning. Gavin Collins had a 2-run single to open the scoring, then came home on a wild pitch. Seth Heck scored the first run and drove in the 4th with a double in the 2nd inning.

The conclusion of the game will not be on ESPNU, but Hail State TV will have the broadcast as well as Game 2 at 6:30.

It appeared as though Coach Cohen is allowing the Bulldogs grow their beards back as Wes Rea and Trevor Fitts both had some stubble on their face.
