Bulldogs Take Game 2 in Columbia

MSU wins Game 2 of the series vs. Missouri by a score of 6-2. They have now won the series and will go for the sweep on Sunday afternoon.

Cody Brown was the hero. Batting in the lead off spot for the third straight game, and four game this year, he went 4 for 4 with 2 RBI and a walk. He led off the game with a triple on the first pitch, then came around to score on an Alex Detz groundout. He also notched three singles in the game, two of which brought home runs.

Ross Mitchell gave just the start MSU needed – a complete game effort allowing just two runs on seven hits. With Lindgren and Holder unavailable after pitching long outings on Friday night, this was exactly what was needed.

This win improves State’s record to 25-15 (9-8). Game 3 will be played at 1:00 tomorrow.
