So as you may have noticed, I am a newcomer here to the Maroon and White Nation family. So let me get past the awkward stage and introduce myself to you and the rest of the community.
My name is Andrew Norwood. I am currently enrolled here at Mississippi State University studying to earn my degree in Professional Meteorology. Contrary to what some of you may believe, there is another side of Meteorology other than the beautiful faces you see on your television screen everyday. That, my friends, is the career path that I have chosen for myself. Now it just happens that I grew up loving a University that offers one of the best Meteorology programs in the nation. Now I may be a little biased, according to some, but we do hold three National Championships in the WxChallenge Forecasting Competition. You read that correctly, there is a National Championship for weather forecasting. Add that to the ongoing list of reasons why MSU is better than TSUN.
Going a little personal here, I was born and raised in the great metropolis of Greenville, Mississippi. I went to Washington School in the same town and won two MAIS AAA-II State Championships there in football. I’m usually a joking type of person but when it comes to weather, I go full-nerd. Don’t worry, I try to explain things as much in laymen’s terms as possible. My goal in writing blogs here on Maroon and White Nation is to give you an in-depth forecast for all athletic events with MSU, and to possibly have you learn a few things in the world of Meteorology. If I accomplish those two goals, I consider my posts a success.
