MSU vs. Vanderbilt Series Preview

The Dawgs have #3 Vanderbilt coming to Starkville this weekend. This is a huge series. Winning 2 out of 3 is the kind of thing that can put State right back into the national discussion. MSU was thumped four times by Vandy last year.

Game 1 – Friday at 6:30 (CSS): Preston Brown (2-0, 0.75) vs. Tyler Beede (4-1, 0.84)

Game 2 – Saturday at 7:30 (ESPNU): Ross Mitchell (3-1, 1.50) vs. Jared Miller (5-0, 0.57)

Game 3 – Sunday at 1:30: Trevor Fitts (2-0, 3.55) vs. Tyler Furguson (3-0, 1.63)

C.T. Bradford has been battling injury this week. It is uncertain if he will be able to play.

This will be a tough series no doubt. Just looking at their pitching numbers is scary. And their hitting is pretty good too. Before the year we would have wanted to take 2 out of 3, and if we want to be who we thought we were that should still be the expectation. Every mistake will be magnified in a series like this, so playing a top notch series and not taking any plays off is crucial. This will be a great test and should be a great weekend at Dudy Noble.
