2014 SEC West Predcition: 7th Arkansas

March is finally here, and spring practice for most schools is just around the corner. So why not go ahead and predict what each football team will do in 2014? It’s early obviously, and these predictions might change depending on any injuries, suspensions, or dismissals. Starting with the bottom at 7th place, the Arkansas Razorbacks.

The first year of the Bret Bielema era did not go nearly as well as Arkansas fans would have hoped for. Most people knew it was going to be a rebuilding year, but I don’t know that anyone knew it was going to be as bad as it was. So will it be any better in 2014?

I don’t see things getting any better for Arkansas in 2014. I really tried to find an SEC win for the Razorbacks somewhere, but I just don’t see it happening. Their best chances are going to be against Texas A&M and Missouri, but I still don’t see them winning either of those. If I am right, the Razorbacks will finish the year 3-9 overall and 0-8 in the SEC. If that happens, given the fact that Bielema isn’t really making many people want to be patient with him with the way he is running his mouth, Bielema may be out after year 2 in Arkansas.

Honestly, I thought Arkansas had hit a home run when they hired Bielema. He was coming off three straight Big 10 championships, and he looked primed to take Arkansas to the next level. He may get there, but I am starting to wonder if it will ever come together for Bielema and Arkansas.
