If you haven’t heard, Mississippi State is holding a graphic design fan contest. They are looking for designs for six new banners to hang on the new brick west-side facade of Davis Wade Stadium. The person or persons whose design(s) are selected receive two 2014 free memberships to The Gridiron, one of the new premium areas in the new north end zone. Sweet, right!
The official release about the contest says to email in your entries as a “high resolution file.” Exactly what is high resolution for something forty-four feet high?!? I was pretty sure my PC couldn’t handle working with a 4 million megapixel image. I emailed, and it turns out it doesn’t have to be full-sized or print-ready. It can even be a sketch. They’re just looking for ideas. If you have any good ones, send ‘em in! (Or you can send ‘em to me, and I’ll blatantly plagiarize them and submit them as my own. I really want those passes!) You can check out some of the ideas submitted so far on Twitter by searching #DWS14.
Being that I am a person who likes to play with Mississippi State-related graphic image design, I thought I should submit an entry (or two… or four… or however many I have time to crank out before Sunday night’s deadline!). I’d really love to get those Gridiron passes!
Anyway, the first idea I submitted was a set of six banners. Let me know what you think in the comments section below. (click to enlarge)
