As I mentioned earlier in the week, Perk is one of only 5 guys from the 2009 signing class to be a 5th year senior in 2013. All five of them have had tremendous impacts, and LaDarius has had a solid career in Starkville.

During the 2010 and 2011 seasons he was Vick Ballard’s primary backup where he gained nearly 1,000 yards rushing and over 300 yards receiving in two years. In 2012, he became the feature back in the offense and became the third MSU tailback in four seasons to rush for over 1,000 yards (Dixon ’09, Ballard ’11).  His production scaled back a bit this fall, but he was still a constant in State’s backfield.

For his career, Perkins has rushed for over 2,500 yards averaging 5.0 yards per carry. He also has 694 career receiving yards and 9 receiving touchdowns. In total, he has scored 24 TDs either by air or ground.

Currently he ranks 4th all time in MSU history for all purpose yards with 3,950. He holds 2nd place for a single game with his 319 all purpose yards vs. Ole Miss in 2010. He ranked 6th all time in rushing yardage, and with just 57 yards in the bowl game he would pass Micheal Haddix for 5th all time.

Solid career for Perk. Thanks for your time in maroon and white. Good luck at the next level!
