Could Rodney Hood Come Back to MSU?

Three weeks ago Rodney Hood announced that he would be transferring from Mississippi State. This was a huge blow as Hood was going to be the best returning player for the 2012-13 basketball team.

Since that day, Rick Ray has been able to bring some sort of stability to the program. The attrition has stopped including Jalen Steele letting it be known that he will be back next year. Ray has also signed two point guards and a Juco forward to the current recruiting class.

Hood, meanwhile, hasn’t chosen a school to transfer to yet. It appeared as though programs as high profile as Duke and Ohio State were interested, but nothing has happened. He is also still in Starkville finishing up classes.

Could there be a change of heart for Rodney? He is just a freshman in college, so it’s very possible that his mind has done a 180 over the last few weeks. If Rick Ray is able to get Hood to stick around it would certainly be an impressive recruiting effort on his part. And I’d be happy to have Rodney come back – no hard feelings.
