Dawgs Take Series Over Vandy

Finally, the Dawgs get a SEC series win…capping it off on Sunday in dramatic fashion on Sunday with a walk-off double by Darryl Norris. State is finally healthy, with Norris and relief pitcher Taylor Stark coming back this weekend…and Norris certainly made his presence felt all weekend.

MSU won on Friday night, 7-4; but were unable to win yet again on a Saturday – losing 4-3 in 12 innings. After falling behind 4-0, State came back and won 8-7 on Sunday.

WEST

LSU, 8-4
Arkansas, 7-5
Auburn, 6-6
Ole Miss, 6-6
Mississippi State, 5-7
Alabama, 4-8

EAST

Kentucky, 9-3
Florida, 7-5
Tennessee, 6-6
Georgia, 5-7
South Carolina, 5-7
Vanderbilt, 4-8

As you can see from those standings, MSU is not doing too bad. Things didn’t start off so well, but the Dawgs haven’t been swept – and that’s kept them around. Up next: South Alabama on Wednesday and then at South Carolina next weekend.
